Wedding rings are an expression of love, individuality, and lasting connection—and it is precisely these values that are reflected in the jewelry from “Form & Wert.” The goldsmith’s studio is known for sophisticated design, masterful craftsmanship, and a deeply rooted family tradition. The studio is run by Philipp Lang, a goldsmith, artist, and graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg. Together with his team, he creates pieces of jewelry that perfectly match your wishes.
Form & Wert combines ancient, nearly forgotten craftsmanship with contemporary technology and modern design sensibilities. The result is wedding rings that are not only visually striking but are tangibly crafted from a unique creative energy. Info & TicketsWho exactly is “Form & Wert”?
We are a young team with a deep passion for jewelry, design, and craftsmanship. The jewelry studio was founded in 2015 by Philipp Lang, who practically grew up in the goldsmith’s trade and later studied at the Nuremberg Academy of Fine Arts. Together with his team, he combines traditional craftsmanship with new techniques and ideas. Nora, an apprentice in the workshop, trained at the Goldsmithing School in Pforzheim and brings her attention to detail to every piece of jewelry. The team is also supported by Pouya, a working student at the Academy of Fine Arts, who focuses primarily on 3D printing and digital design possibilities. In this way, “Form & Wert” combines classic goldsmithing, artistic thinking, and modern technology—always with the goal of creating unique pieces of jewelry.
What is your philosophy?
For us, our work as goldsmiths is more than just a craft—it is a form of art. We want to create pieces of jewelry that tell a story and inspire new ones. Wedding rings accompany their wearers every day—through both special moments and the ordinary routines of daily life—and, over time, become a part of their own story. Our goal isn’t simply to design beautiful pieces of jewelry, but to create rings that live alongside the people who wear them. It’s important to us that everyone feels comfortable with us and enjoys the collaborative design process.
What do you do if we're not sure about the design?
If you’re not quite sure yet what your rings should look like, that’s no problem. During your consultation, we’ll be there to support you with our experience and design expertise. During an appointment at our studio, we’ll get to know each other and hear the parts of your story that you’d like to share with us. As we talk, we’ll sketch out possible designs, which often leads to the first ideas for your rings. If you’re still having trouble visualizing the rings based on the sketches, we’ll create a prototype using 3D printing.
What if we don't want wedding rings at all?
Wedding rings are a wonderful tradition, but they’re not a must. That’s why we’ve designed many other pieces of jewelry that couples have used to exchange their vows—such as pendants, bracelets, or other personal items that symbolize their bond. Ultimately, it’s not about following tradition, but about creating something that truly suits you both.
Which wedding rings do you remember most fondly?
This question isn’t easy to answer at all. Actually, we remember every wedding ring, because behind every couple there’s a unique story. That’s exactly what makes our work so special: we get to accompany people on a part of their journey together. Time and again, we’re overwhelmed by the trust that couples from all over the world place in us. Love is everywhere, and it has brought people from very different countries to us—from Italy to Switzerland to Australia. But setting that aside, the €80,000 wedding rings for a South African couple were truly in a league of their own—something no one here will forget anytime soon.
