Marcell Nix

Marcell Nix He photographs and films under the "Outvow" concept, which stands for unconventional, honest, and aesthetically pleasing wedding photography that breaks away from the norm. He works with couples who forge their own path—with emotion instead of kitsch, with style instead of poses. For memories that touch your heart.

For over eight years, Marcell has been working with couples who want to celebrate their wedding outside the box and forge their own unique path. To that end, he founded Outvow Wedding Films & Photography. Outvow—a name that’s more than just a play on words. It combines the English word for wedding vows, “vow,” with a subtle hint of rebellion, as in “outlaw,” and stands for a modern, personal way of getting married. No kitsch, no clichés, but plenty of emotion.
Wedding photographer Marcell reimagines aesthetics. His photos and videos tell your story—honestly, naturally, and up close. No stiff poses, no forced smiles, no direct instructions. Instead: genuine moments born from your closeness and presence—as vibrant as life itself. With his camera, Marcell moves right among your guests, yet always remains unobtrusive.
The Outvow concept is perfect for anyone who identifies with the term “anti-bride,” who dreads checklists, and who’d rather celebrate their day in their own style. Marcell brings not only a keen sense of atmosphere but also an easygoing manner that takes the pressure off you. This is how you create exactly what lasts in the end: memories and emotions that touch your heart—and stay with you forever.

What does Outvow mean, and what does it stand for?
The name is meant to evoke the idea of an “outlaw”—someone who breaks the rules or thinks differently—while remaining subtle and elegant. At the same time, the name incorporates the word “vow,” referring to marriage vows. Outvow stands for redefining traditional marriage vows, personalizing them, or even consciously leaving them behind. It’s about going beyond traditional conventions and forging your own path. The name is stylistically versatile and appeals to couples seeking an urban, modern wedding concept as well as those who prefer a minimalist, poetic aesthetic.
How important is transparency in your work?
Very much so. It’s absolutely important to me that you know exactly where you stand right from the start. No fine print, no surprises—just clear information about prices, services, and procedures. For most couples, this is the first time they’ve faced a decision like this. That’s why it helps when everything is communicated openly and honestly. My goal is for you to be able to sit back and relax—because you understand what’s happening and feel comfortable with everything.
How do you navigate weddings—as a guest, a service provider, or a silent observer?
A little bit of everything—but above all, right in the thick of it. I’m there, but I’m not loud. Close by, without drawing attention to myself. Observing, rather than staging. Many people say afterward that they’d almost forgotten that photos or video were even being taken—until the gallery arrives and all those real, raw, honest moments come to light. That’s exactly the point: I want to be a part of your day without influencing it. That’s how memories are created that feel like you.
What makes your approach to work unique—or different?
Outvow celebrates the imperfect, the unplanned—what feels genuine. I work with couples who don’t want to fit into a mold, but instead speak their own language. No straitjacket of tradition, no script—just a day that belongs to you. I capture what happens between the lines: quiet moments, quirky contrasts, honest glances. And that’s exactly what creates images that feel like memories.
What advice would you give to couples who are looking for the right photographer?
Don't just look at the portfolio—trust your gut. No matter how beautiful the photos are, if you don’t feel comfortable with the person behind them, you’ll realize it later. That’s why chemistry is just as important as style. I always recommend talking, writing, or—if possible—meeting in person beforehand. If it feels relaxed, if there’s genuine interest, and if you feel a sense of trust, you’ve most likely made the right choice.
