Ideally, you should book your bridal styling appointment at least 6–12 months before your wedding day. Popular dates fill up quickly, especially during peak season (May through September). By planning early, you’ll not only secure your preferred date but also have plenty of time for a personalized trial styling session.
When will the trial styling session take place, and what do I need to prepare for it?
The trial styling session usually takes place about 4–6 weeks before the wedding. Please bring the following to the trial appointment: a photo of your wedding dress, inspiration photos or Pinterest boards, any hair accessories, veil, or flowers, and a white or light-colored top (similar to the neckline of your dress).
I'd like to have a voluminous, elegant hairstyle. Unfortunately, my hair is fine and has split ends. Is there a way to specifically strengthen and build up my hair?
Your desire for more volume is definitely achievable! I recommend a deep-cleansing exfoliation treatment at the salon, which will remove buildup from your hair and make it more receptive to moisture and proteins. This will allow it to grow healthily and develop more body. I can also provide you with the right hair care products for use at home, and a layered haircut will further ensure healthy, shiny ends. I’d be happy to advise you on this!
What happens on the wedding day—what does the bridal styling process involve?
On your wedding day, I’ll come to your home or the venue (as agreed). Or you can come to my salon. We’ll start off at a relaxed pace so you can begin your day stress-free. I’ll set aside plenty of time for you so that even minor adjustments can be made. If you’d like, I can also style your maid of honor, mother of the bride, or guests.
What are the current trends in bridal styling?
Right now, natural, soft looks are especially in demand. “Clean girl” makeup, soft waves, braided elements, and “undone” updos are all the rage—styles that highlight your natural beauty rather than transforming you. Glowy skin and subtle highlights in the hair are also very popular. More and more brides want a look that shows them “as themselves, only at their best.”
